Who Needs A Financial Planner?
In short, everyone can benefit from speaking to a financial planner. It doesn’t necessarily mean you need a financial planner at this point in your life, but having the conversation about what a financial planner does, and more importantly what they can do for you, is worthwhile. Financial planners can help you determine if their expertise can be of use, or if there are other resources and help available that may be better suited to the needs of your specific situation.
For example:
- If you spend more money than you make, most financial practices can’t help you. A financial planner who works on an hourly basis may be able to offer some advice on budgeting changes, but you’ll likely find better value in a debt consolidator. A legitimate financial planner can provide you with recommendations
- If you are looking to buy 100 shares of stock, most financial planners can’t help you. You may be better off signing up with a product solution such as eTrade. A financial planner will explain the options available to you.
- If you are starting a family and in need of life insurance, a financial planner may or may not be able to help you. The type of help you require will depend on the complexity of your needs. A financial planner if not suited to help you, can refer you to someone who can.
